Fête de la Raclette

With her family out, Emma decided to invite Anneliese and I over for a cheese and Disney movie filled samedi soir (Saturday night).

Raclette, for all of those who have sadly not had the sublime opportunity to try this magnificient experience, is a type of sliced cheese that comes from the French Alps that is melted using a very particular machine, that is, rather conveniently, in most French kitchen cupboards and looks like this-

Everyone gets their own little spade in which they put their slice of cheese, which once melted is drizzled over the top of boiled potatoes and eating with chacuterie (hams, salamis and saucissons). In France you can get a packed of about 20 slices for 2 euros! In Australia this is almost 20 dollars! It is so incredibly filling, I only managed to get through about 4 slices!

With tummies full of raclette and rosé we plonked ourselves on the couch to watch Anastacia in French before I had to catch the last bus home.
